History:

Dr. Lewis

Orinda Optometric Vision Center was founded in 1957 by Dr. Benjamin Gaynor. Dr. Gaynor was a pioneer and a believer in bringing modern technology to the art of medical practice. An expert in pediatric vision, he was also one of the first to fully embrace soft contact lens technology. He played a major role in the development of the soft lens materials and in the management of challenging cases. Countless patients who were once told they could not benefit from the comfort and freedom of soft lenses became long-time wearers and testimonials to the countless that followed.

In 2003, Dr. Gaynor passed the reins to Dr. Jeffrey Lewis. Dr. Lewis continues the tradition with not only contact and spectacle lens materials, but also laser eye surgery and vision rehabilitation.
